Description
This dredging project includes new work for the improvement of the Columbia River from River Mile 3 to River Mile 16 and River Mile 95 to River Mile 105. Disposal of new work material will be in the Columbia River Estuary and the ocean placement sit e. Maintenance dredging will be performed under this contract at the Mouth of the Columbia River and the Columbia River from River Mile 20 to River Mile 95 (non-continuous). Material from the Mouth of the Columbia River will be placed in the Shallow Wate r Placement Site (Site E). Maintenance material from the Columbia River will be place at designated in-water sites with in the Columbia River. The Contractor shall be required to commence work at any time after Notice to proceed to prosecute the work dil igently and complete the work not later than December 20, 2005. A Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) shall be provided for all new contracts with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District. For this project the person that will act as the SSHO is required to have a minimum of 3 years safety work with simil ar projects and a 30 Hour OSHA construction safety class, or equivalent, taken within the last 3 years. The SSHO may have other duties for this work that include being the Contractor on-site Project Manager and/or the on-site CQC Manager or other responsi ble individual.
