Description
SUBJECT SOLICIATION IS AMENDED/CHANGED ON 1/3/05: COST OF PLANS: $200 PER SET. PACKAGES WILL NOT BE MAILED UNTIL CHECKS ARE RECEIVED. CHECKS SHALL BE MARKED WITH THE SOLICIATION NUMBER AND MADE PAYABLE TO FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION. MAIL TO: FAA - ACE-55, ROOM 117, 901 LOCUST, KANSAS CITY, MO 64106. SUMMARY OF WORK General.- Furnishing all labor, equipment, tools, supplies and materials and their use in connection with the demolition of the Airport Traffic Control Tower (ATCT), base building (the original construction and two additions), trash dumpster enclosure and an engine generator building at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, St. Louis Missouri. The ATCT structure consists of reinforced cast-in-place concrete floors, shafts, stairs, interior and exterior walls approximately 14+ stories in height, topped by the steel framed tower cab. The base buildings are approximately 2 stories in height, consist of a combination of reinforced cast in place concrete grade beams, foundation walls, reinforced brick/ block masonry above grade exterior walls, with some CMU interior walls. The ATCT and base buildings shall be disassembled, demolished and removed complete to the various top of pile cap levels, including complete removal of foundation walls, grade beams, slabs, all attachments and all contents. The single level trash dumpster enclosure, engine generator building with adjoining mechanical yard structures consists of reinforced CMU walls shall be completely demolished and removed from site including all contents to the various top of the concrete slab on grade levels. The ATCT, base buildings, other building structures, abandoned below grade steam lines and equipment contain hazardous materials as outlined in the environmental site inspection report. Above and below grade utilities mains, branches, lines directly serving the FAA site shall be disconnected, removed, terminated and capped as required, with some portions of below grade lines, where shown in drawings, abandoned in place. Existing on site and adjacent to the site utilities that serve the airport and other airport tenants shall remain active. On site and off site electrical systems and the cables in duct banks shall be terminated and removed. The demolition includes removal and disposal of emergency generator, UPS system and the above ground fuel tank at the site. Excavations shall be backfilled and disturbed ground surfaces shall be graded and seeded. The sequence of operations shall be: 1) removal and disposal of hazardous materials, 2) disassemble, disconnection, removal, demolition of the ATCT, base buildings, other structures, equipment, utilities and 3) site restoration, in that order. Use of explosives or implosion is prohibited. This project includes but is not limited to the demolition of the old ATCT/TRACON at Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, St. Louis, Missouri.
