Description
Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center San Diego (SPAWARSYSCEN SAN DIEGO) intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Commercial Items contract on a Sole Source basis to Viasat, Inc. 6155 El Camino Real, Carlsbad CA 92009-1699. Authority for other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The requirement is for 53 CDH chips that will be incorporated into the Digital Signal Processor (DSP) modules of the RT-1829 Ultra High Frequency (UHF) Satellite Communications (SATCOM) terminals designed by Viasat. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. In accordance with FAR 203(a)(1), the Government intends to issue a solicitation in 10 days. All interest and capability statements received within 10 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The resulting procurement will conducted in accordance with FAR 12.203. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 334220. The size standard is 750 employees.
