Description
THIS SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR SOLICITATION. The Alaska District Corps of Engineers intends to award a proprietary and/or sole source modification for a Honeywell fire alarm panel under contract DACA85-02-C-0004, Bassett Army Commun ity Hospital Replacement, Fort Wainwright, Alaska (FTW171B). The panel will serve as an interface between the Siemens fire alarm panel installed in the new Bassett Hospital and the Ft. Wainwright post-wide Honeywell fire alarm system and will enable trans mission of trouble, alarm and supervisory signals. The Ft. Wainwright existing central fire reporting system remotely monitors fire alarm systems throughout the post. The post system is manufactured by Honeywell and utilizes a Honeywell W7053 computerize d panel as the supervising station control unit. The Honeywell W7053 uses proprietary language to communicate with building fire alarm panels throughout the post and that language is only compatible with particular models of Honeywell fire alarm panels. The new Bassett Hospital has a Siemens Pyrotronics MXL fire alarm panel that cannot communicate with the post-wide Honeywell system. Therefore, a Honeywell building fire alarm panel (Honeywell FS90Plus) is required to act as an interface between the Sieme ns building fire alarm panel and the existing Honeywell central fire reporting system. Dry alarm, supervisory, and trouble contacts in the Siemens panel will connect to the Honeywell interface panel which, in turn, will report the state of the contacts to the Ft. Wainwright central reporting system. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement in the form of a letter and standard marketing material describing how the equipment is comparable to the Honeywell FS90Plus fire alarm panel. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS; however all submittals received within 45 calendar days of the date of this publication will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government to not comp ete this equipment requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to compete the requirement.
