Description

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District intends to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) to award one firm-fixed price contract for the Construction of the Military Police Station (MPS), Ft. Hamilton, N.Y. The project consists of performing construction of a new 12,800 SF Military Police Station (MPS), demolition of a 138,000 SF multi-story structure and three small existing single story buildings total approximately 4,200 SF. The new MPS is a two-story building (with basement) with offices, toilets, showers, arms room, detention rooms, elevator, intrusion alarm, fire suppression/detection system, HVAC system and full electrical distribution system. The supporting facilities will include but not limited to site lighting, paving, walks, curbs, fencing parking lot, storm drainage and other site improvements. The multi-story building to be demolished has gone thru intensive survey and was declared asbestos and lead free. However, the other three small structures have not gone thru the survey may contain asbestos and lead paint. This procurement shall be RESTRICTED to SBA certified HUBZone (Historically Underutilized Business Zone) firms. The estimated construction value of the project is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. The completion pe riod is approximately 600 days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 236220 with a size standard of $28,500,000.00. Plans and Specification will be available on or about 22 Dec 2004. B id Opening date is on or about 31 Jan 2005 at 2:00:00 P.M. Bid opening will be held in Room 1841 of 26 Federal Plaza, New York, NY 10278. The media selected for the issuance of the Solicitation and Amendments shall solely be at the discretion of the Govern ment; accordingly, the media utilized for this project shall be the Internet and CD-ROM. Paper copies of this Solicitation, and Amendments, if any, will not be available or issued. Interested parties may download and print the Solicitation at no charge at http://www.nan.usace.army.mil (Contract & Bid). Project specification files and drawings are portable document files (PDF) and can be viewed, navigated, or printed using Adobe Acrobat reader. Minimum system requirements are 486-based personal computer, Mic rosoft Windows 3.1 or greater, 8mb application RAM. A registration page is attached to the website and prospective bidders are required to register and to receive notice of any amendments and/or addenda that may be issued to this solicitation. Utilization of the Internet is the preferred method, however, CDs will be available upon written request stating the Solicitation Number, or Project Name, complete company name and street address. We will not deliver to P.O. Boxes. Make check or money order payable in the amount of $10.00 to FAO, USAED, NY. Requirements: DFARS 252.204-7004 Required Central Contractor Registration (CCR) applies to this procurement.
