- Notice of Contract Action for a Sole Source Procurement SUBJECT: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT FOR: Mechanical maintenance of fabrication flight machinery. DESC: INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT WITH Studwell Engineering, Inc., The Air Force, Edwards Air Force Base, CA intends to award a Sole Source purchase order to Studwell Engineering, Inc., 11053 Penrose St. Ste C, Sun Valley, CA 91352-2759. The Sole Source purchase will be for the following commercial item(s): CLIN (0100): S/N J034 - FABMACH--Contract will cover all maintenance performed by contractor from 16 Dec. 2004 to 30 Sep 2005. Maintenance will include repair of failed equipment, or servicing of equipment including adjustments, periodic leveling, and other mechanical set-up/disconnection requirements. All repairs will be performed on a "call" basis, with response time of 72 hours. Estimated 115 hours $87.00 per hour. Equipment in the Machine, Weld, Sheet Metal and Composite (plastic) shops will be under this agreement; CLIN(0101): S/N J034-FABPARTS--Parts reimbursement. Preventive maintenance on fabrication shop equipment is an integral part of the 412th EMS/MXMF. The various shop equipment is used on a daily basis, ensuring mission requirements are being maintained at Edwards Air Force Base. The failure of not having operational equipment would hamper mission requirements and possible cause work stoppage to various units on the base. Any work stoppages to any of the various programs on the base would impact the base both financially and disrupt critical time sensitive program schedules. Preventive maintenance on fabrication shop equipment is currently in need of a maintenance contract to maintain the various shop equipment. Studwell Engineering, Inc. is has the technological expertise to perform the preventive maintenance on the various equipment. It is the only responsive vendor with the technical engineering data required to correctly maintain the equipment. Please note that this is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide mechanical maintenance of fabrication flight machinery. If the office has not received any affirmative written responses by Close of Business (COB), 15 Dec 04, a Sole Source purchase order will be pursued with Studwell Engineering, Inc, 11053 Penrose Street Unit C, Sun Valley, CA 91352.
