Description

ACTION: Sole Source Announcement CONTACT: Melissa V. Lucas The U.G. Geological Survey, intends to make award of a noncompetitive procurement to KBM Group, Inc., to perform on-call technical maintenance on the hardware and software that comprises its Mineral Archival and Retrieval System (MARS) for one year. The required support will provide broad hardware and software maintenance, covering the MARS Document Managment System, Kofile Visual Information System (KoVIS), and other integral system/network components. Additional areas of support include adding and removing user access to KoVIS system diagnostics and troubleshooting of client workstations, performing system backups, monitoring RAID sub-system performance, installing service patches and upgrades to KoVIS, SQL Server, WinFAX, and other critical components of the system. KBM Group has performed numerous technological upgrades to maximize MARS' efficiency and effectiveness. KBM Group also conducted program development and installation and system configuration, customizing various components to meet the unique requirements of MARS. KBM Group has the knowledge and experience to service and maintain the unique requirements of MARS. The KBM Group has an in-depth understanding of MARS hardware and software components and system configuration to troubleshoot upon malfunctioning and to perform corrective action to bring the system back online. There is no written solicitation for this requirement. It is coded No Solicitation Number 05ER05No Solicitation. This award will be made on or about December 3, 2004. The NAICS code for the acquisitionis 541990. THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS.
