Description
The Section 104 of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) as amended by Section 110 (P.L. 99 499) of the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act of 1986 (SARA), the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) is required to conduct peer review on studies and other research which are to be the basis of environmental public health policy. The purpose of this contract is to provide a mechanism for obtaining peer review for Toxicological Profiles, associated unpublished studies, and other agency products to address this requirement. This mission support contract is to support other agency functions as set in the legislation. This includes: conducting expert panels addressing environmental public health issues, the use of expert consultants for specific programmatic needs, the development of training courses, modules, materials and the conduct of training in conventional or distance learning approaches, providing environmental public health support for agency partners, support for bio-terrorism preparedness and response including trained personnel, materials development, and the support for exercise development and implementation, the planning and conduct of expert meetings, consultative and technical support for the senior agency advisors (BSC), support for environmental public health studies which assist in identifying intervention strategies, support of novel methods, including computational toxicology, to develop toxicological information on hazardous substance, and the translation of critical articles associated with important program objectives.
