- Description
- The Department of Agriculture (USDA) is seeking potential sources of Construction Manager as Constructor (CMc) services. CMc is defined as a firm engaged under direct contract to a building owner, in this case the Department of Agriculture (USDA), to provide design and constructability reviews, value engineering, cost estimating, scheduling and general construction services. The CMc shall be a member of the project development team during the planning, design and construction phases, along with USDA, and USDA's selected design A-E firm. The magnitude of construction estimated price range is between $10,000,000 and $14,000,000. The NAICS code is 236220, with a size standard of $28.5 million. PROJECT SUMMARY: Building Description: The project will be located in Franklin, Maine at the Agricultural Research Service, National Cold Water Marine Aquaculture Center. The project includes the construction of a 55,000 square foot modern Aquaculture Research Facility and several small support buildings. The facility will contain complex mechanical and plumbing applications to support advanced aquaculture equipment, research laboratories and offices. Interested firms are invited to respond to this announcement by providing the following information: a) geographical location(s) of major and satellite offices, b) business size (large or small) and type (8(a) concerns, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business, woman-owned, or special disabled veterans, veterans of the Vietnam era, and other eligible veterans), c) company literature/documentation supporting experience in work similar in type (research laboratory, aquaculture facilities and support offices) and size of projects (in dollars), d) past performance references for similar work, identifying any CMc and research laboratory/aquaculture experience, performed within the past five years, and e) information on available bonding capacity. NO SOLICITATION EXISTS AT THIS TIME. THIS REQUEST IS INTENDED ONLY TO IDENTIFY SOURCES OF SERVICES. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this sources sought announcement or to otherwise pay for the information requested. The deadline to respond to this notice is December 14, 2004. Requested information shall be limited to no more than 20 pages.
