Description
Sources are being sought for the U. S. Coast Guard in the availability of certified contractors for the Motoren Und Turbine Union(MTU)8V396TE94 Marine Propulsion Diesel Engine on 87-foot patrol boats. At the present time, this acquisition is expected to be a small business set-aside, NAICS Code 336611, the small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. This work is such as, but not limited to: Motoren Und Turbine Union (MTU)8V396TE94 Marine Propulsion Diesel Engine Maintenance Operation and Renew Cylinder Liner. Period of Performance: not to exceed 21 calendar days. Offerors will be placed on notice, to complete all known and unknown work within the specified time - more than one shift may be required. Offerors are to anticipate a 10-hour workday at a minimum. Place of Performance: Anticipate performance at boat?s home pier. Anticipate awarding 1 or 2 requirements contracts located in the following geographical locations: (1) Northern: from the Virginia/North Carolina Border to Maine and (2) Southern: From the North Carolina Border to the Gulf of Mexico. Technical Representative must be MTU certified. Technical Rep must submit a resume of experience on equipment 8V39TE94 (in marine application), with a minimum of 5 years experience over the last 10 years. Offerors must submit a technical plan to include: (1) how you plan to utilize up to 900 hours of USCG Labor, (2) Bosch Pump overhaul (plan and certification), (3) performance plan for all the required overhaul work to be completed within 21 calendar days, (4) Resume of technical representative and other proposed contractor personnel. (5) Warranty ? contractor to provide details of their commercial warranty and provide the limitations which apply to services rendered. In your response you must include: (a)a positive statement of your intention to submit a bid for this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, points of contact and telephone numbers. (c) past performance references with points of contact and phone numbers. At least two references are requested, but more are desirable. Your response is required by 7 December 2004, 4:00 pm (EST). All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made for a small business set aside. Failure to submit all information requested may result in an unrestricted acquisition. A decision on whether this will be pursued as a small business set aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted at www.eps.gov.
