Description
NAVSEA Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Dahlgren Division is conducting a survey of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS), or modified - militarized COTS, tactical maritime mobility platforms that can operate from military host platforms and maneuver to designated areas in and around the littoral and riverine environment. This survey also solicits information regarding future tactical mobility systems and emerging technologies that may provide enhanced capabilities during maritime operations, including those technologies that may require research and development. The objective of this survey is to identify innovative tactical maritime mobility solutions, technologies and state of the art approaches that can provide significant tactical advantages by achieving some or all of the following objectives: A. Insert and extract up to four personnel and equipment. B. Intercept underway maritime vessels. C. Deliver small teams to stationary maritime platforms. D. Detect, identify and monitor targets and serve as a command and control node. E. Interoperate with military air, surface and subsurface platforms as is appropriate to the deployment or delivery concept. F. Operate in day, night and all weather conditions. G. Operate with reduced detectability. The following information is requested for all candidate solutions: 1) The platform and operational concept, 2) description of physical and performance characteristics (including speed, range, payload, size, weight, propulsion plant description, and other salient features) and 3) an estimate of overall costs (including research and development or other nonrecurring costs). Please include the willingness of the company to respond to further requests for information. A response to this announcement is not a prerequisite for participation in any future craft program should such a program develop. Also, data provided will not be used to qualify prospective offerors for any future solicitations. NSWC will not pay or provide reimbursement for any costs incurred in the preparation of delivery of the requested information. Responses should be limited to 5 pages and submitted to the e-mail address below. All responses will be reviewed by a combined Government and Government Contractor team and will be given Distribution D. Contractors are advised not to disclose proprietary or business sensitive information. Providers of the requested information are asked to respond within 15 days of the announcement. Responses shall be submitted to: futureconcepts@nswg4.navy.mil ADDITIONAL GUIDANCE: There will be no other requests for proposals or other formal solicitations regarding this announcement.
