Description

PLEASE READ ENTIRE ANNOUNCEMENT FOR CORRECT POINTS OF CONTACT FOR THIS PROJECT. THIS PROJECT IS ADVERTISED UNDER SECTION 8(a) OF THE SMALL BUSINESS ACT (15 U.S.C 637(a)) 8(a) COMPETITIVE FOR REGION IV AND REGION VI. THE NORTH AMERICAN INDUSTRY CLASS IFICATION SYSTEM (NAICS) CODE FOR THIS PROJECT IS 237990. A PRE-BID CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD AT THE CORPS OF ENGINEERS SITE OFFICE AT 7861 13TH STREET, IRVINGTON, ALABAMA AT 1:00 PM ON 16 DECEMBER 2004. POINT OF CONTACT IS DONALD GREENE AT 251-694-3730. Thi s work consists of maintenance dredging of several federal navigation channels along the Gulf Coast in Alabama, Mississippi and Florida. This work will require dredging to depths up to 18 feet over channel widths of 150 feet. The dredging material will be disposed in either open water or upland disposal sites. This contract will require a smaller cutterhead pipeline dredge, less than 20-inch dredge, due to the channel widths, depths and limited disposal area capacities. 1. Bidders, subcontractors and Dodge/ Plan Rooms are required to self-register their firm or office on the Internet. Registration should be completed one week prior to the issue date. All notifications of changes to this solicitation shall be made through the Internet only. It is therefore the contractor's responsibility to check the Internet address listed above daily, for any posted changes to this solicitation. The plans and specifications will be issued on the internet only and will be pro vided free of charge. Plans and specifications will not be provided in a printed paper format; however, the Government reserves the right to revert to paper medium when it is determined to be in the Government's best interest. Actual solicitation amendment s will be issued either by fax or by posting for download to the aforementioned web page. 3. All bid forms, bid bonds, and other normal documents required for the bid submittal, including amendments to the bid submittal, shall be in paper medium. Electroni c medium for the bid submittal documents will not be allowed. 4. Critical Path method (Network Analysis System) is not required. 5.
