Description: This is a notice of intent to issue RFP EA1330-05-RP-1033 on a sole source basis under statutory authority 41 USC 253 (c)(1), Only one responsible source, to Wartsila Lips, Inc. 3617 Koppens Way, Chesapeake, VA 23323. Less than full and open competition is necessary because this source has designed and built two (2) each LIPS Thrusters for the Main Propulsion for the NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown and this is the only source to provide overhaul parts for these thrusters. Contractor shall provide parts for a complete overhaul of the two Wartsila-Lips Steerable Thrusters Model FS 2500-450/1510 BO. Delivery shall be no later that February 28, 2005. See Note 22.
