- Marine Corps Systems Command is seeking sources to provide a range of commercial off the shelf (COTS) medical and dental supplies (including pharmaceuticals) and equipment to military units located within the continental United States, Hawaii, and Japan. Generally speaking, a contractor will be provided various lists of line items (each list typically representing a kit or an assembly) for procurement, consolidation (not direct vendor delivery) and bulk shipment to various points. The lists will normally contain commercial item numbers, descriptions, sources of supply, quantities, ship to locations, and special instructions. The Government will be provide National Drug Classification (NDC) or commercial part numbers by for each item, except for those not classified or generic in nature, in order to maintain standardization and minimize variation. Items are non-developmental commercial-off-the shelf readily available in the marketplace. Items procured shall have a! minimum of 24 months of shelf-life remaining upon delivery. Desired delivery time of kits/assemblies to destination may vary up to a 60-day threshold from time of contract award and acceptance. This requirement will not include provision of controlled pharmaceuticals unless proper handling procedures can be ensured under any potential contractual arrangement. The requirement is limited to provision of the items, but the Government is also looking for best commercial business practices that might aid supply chain management. These might include web based ordering systems, catalog management (especially elimination of obsolete items and those no longer approved for use), intransit visibility, and assurance of timely delivery and invoicing. Familiarity with National Stock Numbers (NSN) system is highly desirable. Interested parties should respond no later than 3 December 2004. All responses must include business name and address, business size, CAGE code, DUNS code, TIN! , brief description of support to similar programs, and principal point of contact information. This notice does not constitute an Invitation for Bid or Request for Proposals. Additionally, it is not a commitment by the Government to procure these materials. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this sources sought announcement alone or otherwise pay for the information solicited. It is also noted that the information provided by potential sources may be provided to third parties on a controlled basis for evaluation purposes. Therefore, submission of product information shall contain the vendor?s written permission for release of this information to third parties as determined to be appropriate by this Contracting Department.
