- Description
- Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to award a sole-source contract to Titan (formerly International Systems, LLC, 9924 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92127. This contract will be awarded pursuant to USC 2304(c)(1). AWS is a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) based long range loitering missile for attack of fixed targets, defense suppression, wide area surveillance/targeting. AWS is a 140-220 knot missile with an approximate range of 600-840 nautical miles. The missile is approximately 155? in length, 13.5? in diameter, with a 146.4? wing span. The concept of employment is 20 missiles shipped/fired from a 20ft international standard shipping container (CONEX Container). The purpose of this procurement is to complete the AW development through the fabrication and testing of 100 missiles and two launchers for this contractor-defined program. Flight tests will be conducted to measure missile performance (range, accuracy, altitude, endurance and terminal eve! nts). Government activities will assess the overall system to gain a clear understanding of system capabilities and limitations, production processes, cost, interoperability, compatibility/safety related to shipboard environment, and the capability of AWS to meet Navy integration requirements.
