Description
This request for information (RFI) is for the lease with option to purchase a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The SEM Specification and Requirements follow as a separate document. This notice is issued by the NASA/GSFC to post an RFI via the internet, and solicit responses from interested parties. This document is for information and planning purposes and to allow industry the opportunity to verify reasonableness and feasibility of the requirement, as well as promote competition. Prospective offerors are invited to submit written comments or questions to: Kathleen Pierson no later than November 30, 2004. When responding reference RFI-SEM-4200088390. This RFI is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information submitted in response. Respondents will not be notified of the results. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The RFI and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. The Internet site, or URL, for the NASA/GSFC Business Opportunities home page is http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/eps/bizops.cgi?gr=D&pin=51 It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the Internet cite for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any). Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments, if any. Any referenced notes may be viewed at the following URLs linked below. Interested offerors/vendors having the required specialized capabilities to meet the SEM specifications should submit an electronic copy of: (1)Product Literature; (2)Standard Leasing Terms and Conditions; (3)Early Termination Fees or Charges; and (4)Monthly Lease Pricing with Purchase Option(s) of the SEM described herein. Responses must include the following: name and address of firm, point of contact, and size of business, (i.e. Small, Large, Woman Owned, 8(a), HUBzone, Veteran, Service Disabled Veteran etc.) This requirement is considered a commercial-type product. A commercial is defined in Internet "Note A". The Government reserves the right to consider a small business or 8(a) set-aside based on responses.
