Description
Amendment 0002: This amendment is being issued as a follow-on to the site visit held September 21, 2004. For closet configuration, location of the switch and patch panels and the estimated number of cables required, go to the NOAA/AMD website at http://www.ofa.noaa.gov/~amd/SOLINDEX.HTML, under Solicitation No. DG133W-04-RQ-0296. There should be a 10% over margin on patch cords to meet future growth. The drawings indicate the length of cables because the racks are standard 19" relay racks with 5" separation between racks. This will allow the contractor to determine the length of cabled required. The contractor is expected to survey each closet for correct measurements before cable is purchased. Fifteen LAN rooms need to be cabled: Floors 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, & 18. The quantity of patch cords are indicated in the drawings. 490 Yellow patch cords for the small VLAN and 1622 Green patch cords for the large VLAN are required. The contractor will need to remove the old patch cables and NWS will dispose or store the old cables. The contractor will need to schedule work with the Government’s technical point of contact. Some switches will be relocated as the contractor is working. A deliverable of a cut sheet of what ports the contractor has patched into a given patch panel port is required.
