Description
The U.S. Army TACOM-Picatinny has a requirement for the installation, integration and start-up of a loss-in-weight powder feeder for the Twin Screw Extruder (TSE) Facility. The TSE Facility conducts pilot-scale operations for energetic processes. The loss-in-weight feeder has the ability to feed difficult materials such as highly cohesive and fibrous material. These processes support multiple Army energetic process which includes manufacture of a modified formulation of black powder, Army infrared decoy flares, and PAX-2A. Currently, the TSE Facility is conducting work on the Army's Future Combat Systems (FCS) such as Energetic Thermal Plastic Elastomers (ETPE) and the PAX explosive family. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate a firm fixed price contract, on a sole source basis, to Turn Key Systems, Highland Village, TX.
