- Description
- The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) plans to award sole source purchase order to ENO Transportation Foundation to coordinate and administer United States participation in a thematic network on Safe and Secure Intermodal Transport operated by the European Commission (EC). This will entail organizing at least one forum-like meeting in the United States and organizing several technical delegations to correspond with their European counterparts. The FHWA has supported policy-level exchanges with the EC on intermodal freight through a series of forums over the past five years, conducted by ENO Transportation Foundation for FHWA and the EC. At this stage, the FHWA and EC seek to enter a new phase of this development and begin a series of more frequent, in-depth technical issues associated with intermodal transportation security. ENO Transportation Foundation is uniquely qualified to perform the work required. Additionally, the ENO has expertise and knowledge in working relationships with European partners. Because of their background and experience with the first five forums and their previous dealings with EC as well as their in-depth knowledge on intermodal transportation security issues. No other known source possesses the expertise and experience to successfully coordinate and administer this task. This is a Simplified Acquisition and the award date is on or about November 16, 2004.
