Description

The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Novel Electronics Inc, St. Paul MN to upgrade the existing Pedar System located at the Research facility of the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, Chicago IL. Upgrade will consist of the installation of proprietary software and hardware including the Novel Pliance X-analyzer, X-pert software and pliance sensors. These components will allow the physicians to make pressure measurements between the residual limb and prosthetic socket of amputees. This procurement is being conducted in accordance FAR 6.302 - only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. NAICS 339113. To the best of our knowledge, Novel Electronics Inc. (manufacturer of the equipment) is the only vendor who can provide the proprietary software. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Office within seven (7) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, Building 5, 5000 W. National Ave. Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5440. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Novel Electronics Inc.
