Description

The National Park Service intends to award a sole-source contract to Aeration Industries Int. for the purchase of six sewage aspiration aerators for Grand Teton National Park. This proposed action is for services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested parties may identify their written interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competetive proposals, however, all expressions of interenst received within 15 calendar days of the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determinatio by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received in response to this notice will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competetive procurement. The work consists of furnishing units that are electric motor driven, propeller type horizontal aspirating aerators that provide mixing and aeration at the same time with an angled shaft and propeller. The shaft shall be hollow to provide unimpeded air flow. The units shall qualify as a fine diffuser/atomizer and propeller shall be 316 stainless steel. Floats shall be UV protected, low-density polyethylene with smooth, beveled edges to prevent ice damage. The units shall have a field replaceable water lubricated lower support bearing. Bearings shall be press-fitted into the housing to allow ease of replacement. Units shall be capable of providing a minimum of 2 pounds of oxygen per horse-power hour. Units shall have a U-joint shaft to maintain alignment. Units that require vibration dampeners are not acceptable. Work is to be completed under NAISC Code 333298. Estimated price range is between $25,000 and $50,000. This procurement is intended to be a total Small-business set-aside.
