- This notice is issued by the NASA/MSFC to post a Request for Information via the internet, and solicit responses from interested parties. This Request for Information is issued for the purpose of seeking offerors capable of performing all or any part of the work outlined in the attached Statement of Work (SOW). Copies of the relevant cleaning/treatment specifications: MIL-STD-1246, MSFC-SPEC-164, ASTM A967, STP3001J, and STP3004G; are also attached. In your response, include the following information, separately, for each of the tasks identified in the SOW: (1) estimated cost of the cleaning/treatment work to be done; (2) location where the items are to be shipped for cleaning; (3) an estimated date when the work can begin; and (4) anticipated time of how long the cleaning operation will take. Prospective offerors are invited to submit written comments or questions to: Gloria Coffey, PS24, MSFC, AL 35812, no later than October 5, 2004. When responding reference NNM04ZPS003L. Comments may be forwarded to Gloria Coffey via electronic transmission or by facsimile transmission. This presolicitation synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information submitted in response. Respondents will not be notified of the results. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this solicitation. Any subsequent solicitation shall be synopsized. Although "offeror" is used in this Request for Information, your response will be treated as information only. It shall not be used as a proposal. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B". The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
