Description

Operational Contracting, US Air Force Academy proposes a contract action (base plus three option periods) for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only 4-Com, Inc. under the authority of FAR 6.302-3. Acquired Services consist of CNN, Fox News, and ESPN news broadcasting services for the USAF Academy. 4-Com, Inc. has been found to be the only vendor who can provide these services on existing and already installed satellite equipment. In addition, 4Com has existing authorization to inject broadcasting signal onto the USAF Falcon Net, and is able to meet the required service delivery commencement date of 1 Oct 2004. Supplies and or services to meet this requirement are available from only one responsible source. No other type of supply or service will satisfy agency requirements. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to meet this requirement for consideration by the Government. If no response is received by 28 Sep 2004 04:00PM, MST, to the effect that comparable supplies and/or services are available that would be more advantageous to the Government than obtaining these supplies and or services though a sole source procurement with 4Com, Inc., a sole source award will be made.
