Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. This is a modification to combined synopsis and solicitation N66604-04-Q-6068. Question: Is a rack mount/shock mount transit case to be supplied with the system? Answer: The computer case is to be rack-mountable. The case should also be not taller than 5U. The keyboard and monitor must fit within the 5U case footprint. The components in the case are to be shock mounted. Question: Is a more powerful system at a competitive price acceptable or are you strictly looking for the capability mentioned in the solicitation? Answer: The specified system is most desirable; however, a more powerful system is acceptable as long as the CPU is backward-compatible and able to execute processing instructions written for an earlier CPU/chipset. No additional funding is available. Question: The requested CPU-P3, 1.4 Ghz is discontinued. Will a single Board Computer, Dual Xeon ? 2.6 Ghz or better be an allowable substitute? Answer: Same answer as previous. Substitute systems must be form, fit and function compatible with the specified system. Offers must be submitted to Commercial Acquisition Department, Building 11, Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport, Code 591, Simonpietri Drive, Newport, Rhode Island 02841-1708 or may be faxed to 401-832-4820. Offers must be received by 2:00 p.m. on 09/20/2004. Offers received after this date are late and will not be considered for award. For information on this acquisition contact Eileen Emond at 401-832-1482. For further information about all NUWC Division Newport acquisitions visit our web site at http://www.npt.nuwc.navy.mil/contract/.
