Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with FAR Subpart 12.6 and FAR FAC 2001-24. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, and is issued as a Request for Quotation. A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This is a 100% Small Business Set Aside. Solicitation Number is FA4809-04-Q-0429. The NAICS code 442210 applies to this solicitation. The size standard is 500 employees. The item description is as follows: Manufacturer is J & J Commercial (OR EQUAL) Spelling Bee ? 730. CLIN 0001: Purchase and installation of Industrial / Heavy Duty carpet, requested color is Sage Green, Blue, and Taupe, 938 square yards, 28 oz. Lifespan (OR EQUAL) backing. CLIN 0002: Purchase and installation of 1440 Linear Feet of 4? rubber base to be installed over new carpet. CLIN 0003: Labor Costs. A site visit is scheduled for 24 Sep 04 at 1:00pm, Child Development Center, Bldg. 3710, Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina. All prospective vendors must attend this meeting in order to make a proposal due to the need of viewing contractor carpet samples. This solicitation will be posted on the Electronic Posting System (EPS) Internet website only. *****Statement of Work***** 1. SCOPE: The work covered by this specification consists of furnishing all plans, labor, equipment, and supplies necessary to provide and install carpet for Building 3710. 2. LOCATION: Services are to be performed at the Child Development Center, located at 1030 Langley Avenue, Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina. 3. WORK WEEK: The period of performance for this project is 20 Oct ? 1 Nov 04. The contractor shall install the carpet during evenings 5:30-8:30pm, or weekends 7:30am-4:30pm. All contractor personnel must complete the work satisfactorily and in a timely manner with minimal disruption to daily operations. Any deviations from this work schedule must be coordinated with the end user. 4. VISITING SITE: A site visit is scheduled for 24 Sep 04 at 1:00pm. All prospective bidders must be in attendance if interested in submitting a proposal. Carpet samples are requested from each bidder during this meeting. Contractor is responsible for any and all measurements pertaining to successful completion of this project, to include contractor-supplied materials or parts. A description of requested carpet is listed within paragraph 9. 5. WORKMANSHIP: All workmanship will comply with standard trade practices. 6. CLEANING: Contractor shall keep the work site free from accumulation of waste materials. All wasted generated by this project shall be handled, transported, stored, and disposed of off base by the contractor in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws. Daily and upon completion of this project, the contractor shall leave the work site and premises in a clean, neat workable condition, satisfactory to the end user and Contracting Officer. 7. PROTECTION OF FACILITY: The contractor shall be responsible for protection of grounds, buildings, and equipment therein while performing the services required by this contract. 8. WARRANTY: Contractor will guarantee all material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from date of completion. 9. ORDER OF WORK: Contractor shall remove existing carpet and install new carpet by direct glue down method, approximately 938 square yards. Contractor shall provide all necessary supplies to include floor patch, reducer, seam sealer, adhesive, etc. Carpet samples must consist of Industrial / Heavy Duty, 28oz. Type: Dense Level Loop, Color: Sage Green, Blue, and Taupe Multicolor/Speckled (J&J Commercial or equal; Color: 743 Book Bag Style: Certificate 4). This carpet shall have premium Lifespan or equal backing. Contractor as necessary will patch the floor. Contractor will be responsible for moving furniture from the rooms to be carpeted and return the furniture to its original location after installation.
