Description

Under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 6, Subparts 6.301 and 6.302, the U.S. Census Bureau intends to extend Contract #50-YABC-1-66008 for one (1) year with the University of Maryland on a sole source basis for the final phase of program that will result in the development of a data visualization system. The development and delivery of this system will satisfy the final requirements of an architecture and user interface program that the University of Maryland has been working on for the Census Bureau for the past two years. The Census Bureau believes that the University of Maryland's experience and extensive involvement in all previous phases of this contract makes it uniquely qualified to successfully complete the remaining requirements. Parties interested in reviewing the requirements for the final stage of the project may request a copy from Abe Kennedy at albert.ernest.kennedy@census.gov. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the government. In doing so, interested sources must submit technical capabilities, pricing , and other information that demonstrates their ability to meet the Census Bureau's needs. Detailed capabilities must be submitted to the U.S. Census Bureau, Acquisition Division, 4700 Silver Hill Road, Room #1557 (Mail Stop 1700), ATTN: William Russell, Suitland, Maryland 20746. This synopsis is not to be considered a request for quotations or proposals. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but offers will be used to determine if a comparable source is available and more advantageous to the government. If no affirmative written response is received within 15 days from the publication of this synopsis, an option year to the basic contract may be issued to University of Maryland without further notice.
