Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Field Acquisition Office, Grand Prairie, Texas intends to award a contract for, Pharmacy Technician Services. The service will be provided at the Federal Correctional Complex located at East Whatley Road, Oakdale, LA 71463. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations have the right to submit offers/bids equally with other organizations for the contracts for which they are eligible. Requirements for the contract include, but are not limited to the following: Assist the pharmacist and medical staff with filling and preparing daily prescriptions for the inmate population. Will on a routine basis run the daily pill lines and dispense medications as ordered and directed, filing of pharmacy reports and medical records as needed, typing labels as needed, perform formulary maintenance and pharmacy projects. The contractor shall adhere to all standards and regulations associated with the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and the American Correctional Association Foundation/Core Standards for Adult Correctional Institutions, perform other tasks within his/her scope of practice. Minimum requirements include but are not limited to, a graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician training program or actively participating in a pharmacy technician training program, six months of course credit accomplished and a pharmacy technician internship completed satisfactorily or experience as such for a period of more than two years. Estimated number of sessions per year is 250. Each session is defined as 6 hours in duration. The resulting contract will consist of a Base Year period not to exceed 12 consecutive months from the date of award with four 12-month option periods for renewal, if exercised. It is anticipated that the resulting contract will be indefinite delivery requirements type contract with firm-fixed unit prices. This solicitation is set-a-side 100% for Small Business and all responsible quotations will be considered. The North American Industry Classification System code for this service is 621399 and the applicable small business size standard is $6M. The solicitation will be made available on or about October 12, 2004. Upon issuance, solicitation packages may be accessed electronically at this website.
