Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a proposal is being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation SP4700-04-R-0100A is a Request for Proposal (RFP). This requirement is a sole source requirement to Dialog Corporation. The contractor shall provide Thomson/Dialog News Services, which will provide a quality, vetted news service that is relevant to terrorism and homeland defense. With this news service, the antiterrorism community will be prived of access to rapidly changing information that impacts decisions regarding our national defense. It is critical that this adequately supports the Defense Technical Information Cernter (DTIC) in timely disseminating of information pertaining to the antiterrorism community within the Department of Defence as a portal providing access to real time terrorism focused information from reputable news services throughout the world for the delivery will be for 1000 users. DTIC has the requirement for a specialized Homeland Defense news service for the Antiterrorism Enterprise Portal that is hosted at the Defense Technical Information Center, Fort Belvoir, VA. for the Joint Staff. This will be done through the ability to populate a portion of the Antiterrorism Enterprise Portal for users associated with the Department of Defense. This contract should run for one year from date of award.. This service is should become a constant on-going requirement of DTIC ,their Antiterrorism Enterprise Portal (ATEP), and the Antiterrorism community. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular Acquisition of Commercial Items; (FAC 24) 19 July 2004. Associated NAICS code is 519110, size standard is $6,000,000.00. The contract line items are: CLIN 0001, Editors? Picks to be selected by DTIC, quantity 1 year; CLIN 0002, Editors? Updates to be selected by DTIC, quantity 1 year; CLIN 0003, Custom Editors? Picks, quantity 1 year; CLIN 0004, Search Capabilities, quantity 1 year; CLIN 0005, Saved Search Capabilities, quantity 1 year; CLIN 0006, NewsRoom Search Form, quantity 1 year; CLIN 0007, Company Information, quantity 1 year; CLIN 0008, Weather, quantity 1 year.
