- This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http:///www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://neco.navy.mil. While it is understood the FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. This is a synopsis for items using Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) in accordance with FAR 13. The NAICS code is 334220. The FSC code is AJ92. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The Request For Quote (RFQ) number is N00178-04-Q-3062. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division intends to purchase the following items on a sole source basis from Rotating Precision Mechanisms (RPM), Inc., 8750 Shir! ley Avenue, Northridge, California 91324, Qty. (1) P/N 106503-1 Azimuth Unit and Site Assistance per day for 7 days, plus travel, room and board. The new Azimuth Unit replacement will be complete, and will consist of basically the following: (1) New Azimuth Housing, New AZ Main Bearing, New AZ Motor Drive Assembly, New AZ Limit Switch Assembly, New AZ Data Pack Assembly, New AZ Brake Assembly, New gasketing and seals, new cover, hardware and miscellaneous items, new wiring and minor electrical components, Complete testing to assure proper function. A sole source procurement is necessary because RPM, Inc. is the original and only equipment manufacturer of the antenna. The antenna was designed and manufactured by RPM approximately 12 years ago. Furthermore, RPM owns the drawings, which are both proprietary and essential to the construction of the required azimuth housing replacement. This acquisition will be a Firm-Fixed Price contract. The RFQ announcement will be pos! ted for 7 days. The closing date is set for 16 Sep 2004 at 2:00 PM EST. Anticipated award is 20 Sep 2004. Pricing shall be FOB Destination to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, 17320 Dahlgren Road, Dahlgren, VA 22448-5100. Delivery no later than 20 weeks after receipt of purchase order. The Government will award a purchase order from the announcement to RPM Inc. Interested parties, other than RPM, Inc. must be able to demonstrate, in writing, their capability to provide all requested items. Offerors must be determined to be responsible in accordance with FAR 9.104-1 and must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR).
