Description

The US Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 7, Alaska, intends to award a sole source procurement to Student Conservation Association to provide a Field Staff consisting of a Staff Person and Three Resource Assistants in accordance with an agreement #982101J110 between the US Fish and Wildlife Service and the Student Conservation Assosciation. Field staff will include a SCA staff person that will cover logistical arrangements, training, and guide field work. The staff person will be GIS (ArcMap) capable and will be the primary supervisor for the three (3) field personnel. Work tasks will include completing CBI work on Tetlin National Wildlife Refuge and each staff person spending at least one week on each of the Region 7, Alaksa National Wildlife Refuges. One field resource assistant will work with USFWS personnel to provide assistance on Black Hills Monitoring within the boundaries of the Tetlin NWR. USFWS will provide bear safety, firearms, air safety training, and on-the-ground training in burn sampling techniques. This procurement is to support Fire Program Developement within Region 7, Alaska for use during the 2005 and future fire seasons. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and the Government does not intend to accept or consider any proposals recieved. Award will be made 14 days following the publication of this notice. See Numbered Note 22.
