Description
The U.S. Army TACOM-ARDEC is contemplating the purchase of an Infrastructure Upgrade consisting of 10TB of RAW data storage to Benet Laboratories Storage Area Network (SAN) with total compatibility with the existing network, SAN and hardware. Equipment to be provided: (1) Hitachi 9585 System and subsystem, in rack-mounted configuration, to include; (i) Seventy four 146GB 10K rpm Fibre Channel drives, (ii) Eight 2GB/Second Fiber Interfaces, (iii) Main Controller (9585) unit with redundant controller and rack mount kit, (iv) Five Additional Controller (RKA) units and rack mount kits, (v) Eight gigabyte Cache; (2) 19 inch Rack with power supplies (at least 4 PDU's) to accommodate full rack configuration. Installation of all supplied hardware plus two (2) Uninterrupted Power Supplies (UPSes) supplied by Benet Labs are to be mounted into this rack. (3) All configuration and management software necessary to configure and manage the 9585 and 9200 units in Benet's environment, to include Hitachi Resource Manager and LUN Security 9200. (4) All data and power cables (fiber included) to connect 3 Windows 2000/2003 Servers (with dual Qlogic 2300 HBAs), two SGI Origin computers, a Linux Cluster, Brocade 2400 switch, Qlogic SANNET II and 9585 unit. (5) All hardware necessary to mount and integrate units and computers. Services to be included: (i) Assembly, installation and configuration of all supplied equipment. Connection and configuration of all 9585 interfaces, LUNS and disks to provide at least 10 Terabyte of storage of the 9585 in a RAID 5 configuration within a UNIX (SGI's IRIX and LINUX) and Windows NT/2000/2003 operating system. Supplied equipment, interfaces and integration are to be tested and optimized for best performance in Benet's environment. (ii) Connection and configuration of host computers as follows: (I) Two Windows Servers' (Microsoft Cluster members) HBA interfaces directly connected to the 9585 via different controllers. (ii) Another Windows Server, two SGI (Origin) servers, Linux Cluster connected to the other 9585 via the Brocade 2400 and Qlogic SANNET II switch. (iii) Configuration and test of fail-over of Windows 2000/2003 shares of 9585 on each Microsoft Cluster Member. Test of hardware fail-over of physical drives. (iv) Verification of SGI's and other Windows 2000's access to 9585. Test of hardware fail-over of physical drives. (v) Installation, configuration and tests of LUN security software to ascertain LUNS assigned to one host is inaccessible by another. (vi) Config- uration and testing of management software including configuration, monitoring, managing all Hitachi SAN hardware, notification and call home feature. (vii) Three year, 24x7, on site 4 hour response warranty of all supplied hardware, software and services. (viii) Onsite training of operation, configuration and maintenance of all hardware and software to be provided to a least 2 personnel from Benet Laboratories.
