- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subparts 12.6 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, and a written solicitation will not be issued. This announcement incorporates commercial item provisions and clauses in affect through Federal Acquisition Circular 01-24. The North American Industrial Classification System code is 333312, Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing. The Government intends to award a Firm Fixed Price purchase order under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP), for an Intravascular Ultrasound Machine for cardiac catheterization. Any parties that believe that they can satisfy the requirements below should send written documentation to Bonnie Pijanowski at VA Medical Center, 3495 Bailey Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14215 (mail routing symbol 90). All qualifications must be received no later than Tuesday, September 14, 2004. This device is inserted into an artery using a catheter. It provides detailed images of the artery using ultrasound. This is an indispensable tool in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. The following is a list of new features required for this equipment: 1. Easier to use and set up ?simplifies staff training and reduces procedure times. 2. Supports the Cross-Point catheter from Medtronic. 3. Potential future upgrade to ?Virtual Histology? technology. 4. ChromaFlo technology to view real-time blood flow. 5. Lower crossing profile ? allows use of a smaller guiding catheter. 6. Phased array Technology (Solid-state technology ? no moving parts and results in a more durable catheter). 7. No NURD (Non-uniform Rotational Distortion) 8. More distal transducer location ? allows imaging of more distal lesions. 9. Catheter does not require flushing 10. Pullback device easier to set up and use. 11. DICOM-compliant ? allows us to archive images into the Philips Cath Lab system.
