Description
VA Medical Center (VAMC), Minneapolis, MN solicits the following with procurement being conducted under FAR according to a combination of FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. Solicitation #RFP 618-232-04 is assigned as Request for Proposal. Solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-24. This procurement is issued as 100% Set Aside for Small Business. NAICS code is 238220 (Special Trades) and the small business size standard is $12 million. A pre-proposal SITE WALK is scheduled for Wednesday, September 15, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. Meet in Facilities Engineering, Room BR 138, Main Medical Center. Failure to attend this conference will not relieve the successful Contractor from compliance with all specifications, terms and conditions of resultant contract. Furnish labor, material, supervision and technical expertise to provide replacement water heaters, complete with all mechanical and other appurtenances, mezzanine, Bldg 70, Room BJ-101. Base Bid Water Heaters, Bldg. 70, Room BJ-101 Provide water heater and piping layout to fit in existing space on mezzanine. Verify capacity requirements. Utilize 30 lb steam source if at all possible. Demonstrate maintainability of system; (1) Remove and dispose of existing water heaters (2 ea.) and all mechanical and other devices not necessary to the continued function of the domestic water system; (2)Provide instantaneous domestic water heaters to replace those existing; (3)Connect to and upgrade existing building domestic water distribution system; (4)Provide remote monitoring system; (5)Test systems and certify operation. Water heaters shall demonstrate capacity to carry building load independently. Should installed system fail test, provide additional water heater capacity to sufficiently carry building load independently. Bid Alternate #1 Water Heaters, Bldg. 70, Room BD-101 Provide water heater and piping layout to fit in existing space on mezzanine. Verify capacity requirements. Utilize 30 lb steam source if at all possible. Demonstrate maintainability of system; (1)Remove and dispose of existing water heaters (2 ea.) and all mechanical and other devices not necessary to the continued function of the domestic water system; (2)Provide instantaneous domestic water heaters to replace those existing; (3)Connect to and upgrade existing building domestic water distribution system; (4)Provide remote monitoring system; (5)Test systems and certify operation and perform system revisions necessary to ensure a complete and viable domestic water heating system for Building 70. Complete all work within 60 calendar days following Notice to Proceed. Buy American Act, Service Contract Act apply. Warrant labor and material for 1 year period after acceptance by Government.
