Description
The Eldorado National Forest is soliciting competitive offers for the Last Chance Stewardship Project. The Last Chance Stewardship Project is located within T.9N., R.13. E and T.9N., R.14E., M.D.B.&M. Sealed ? ?Best Value? offers will be received at the Forest Supervisor's Office, at 2:00 PM local time on September 27, 2004, for an estimated 11,708 Tons (1,802M board feet) of sawtimber marked or otherwise designated for cutting on 728 acres and 4 stewardship projects. Stewardship projects are: small tree (non-sawtimber) thinning and removal on 728 acres, machine piling vegetative debris on 401 acres, mastication of 891 acres and SCAT-18 on 327 acres.. In addition there is within the contract area an unestimated volume of combined softwood cull logs that the offeror may agree to remove. Contract contains Specified Roads with an estimated public works construction cost of $13,035 plus deposits for Road Reconstruction Engineering. The Forest Service will evaluate competitive offers submitted by offerors who present a price offer and technical proposal according to the information found under the section in the offer titled ?Instructions to Offerors.? Evaluation factors for this project are organizational experience, organizational past performance, local community economic enhancement (including small business enhancement), understanding the Government?s requirements, and price. One award will be made to the offeror whose proposal is technically acceptable and whose technical/price relationship is the ?best value? to the Government. The Forest Service reserves the right to reject any and all offers. A prospectus is available to the public and interested offerors from the offices listed below. Information concerning the timber and stewardship projects specific to this project, and submission of offers is available to the public from the District Ranger, Placerville Ranger District, 4260 Eight Mile Road, Camino, CA 95709 or the Forest Supervisor, 100 Forni Road, Placerville, California 95667
