Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate solely with Serena Software International, 2755 Campus Drive, San Mateo, CA 94403, for the requirements specified herein under the authority provided in Federal Acquisition Regulation 13.106-1(b), as the Contracting Officer has determined that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. SSA requires renewal of annual maintenance and support of the proprietary software, Comparex MVS, for the period of October 1, 2004 through September 30, 2005. Comparex MVS is currently installed and operating on a CPU at the SSA in Woodlawn, MD. Interested parties are invited to submit information concerning their capabilities, experience, and other data pertinent to their ability to maintain Comparex MVS Software no later than 5:00 p.m. local time on September 20, 2004. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, all quotations received by the response date will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
