Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce On Line (NECO) site located at http://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. Description. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) intends to purchase a Pulse Picker on a sole source basis from Coherent, Inc., 5100 Patrick Henry Drive, Santa Clara, CA 95054. Coherent, Inc. equipment forms the basis for NSWCDD?s existing laser system utilized by the Advanced Quantum Development Environment. The required Pulse Picker represents an enhancement to this existing suite of laser equipment and the pulse picker enhancement must be compatible with the existing equipment capabilities. The required item and quantity is: Coherent 1007944 Pulse Picker Base System Si02 (1 EA). Required delivery is within 30 days after date of order under F.O.B. Destination terms. Any offered alternatives must as a minimum: (1) provide compatibility without jeopardizing NSWCDD?s current Advanced Quantum Development Environment and existing experimental results, (2) provide immediate capability to start operations after the new and existing equipment is in! terfaced and plugged into established outlets, (3) have a rugged mechanical and optical assembly providing an interfaces with the pulsed light so that an acousto-optic modulator can be used for a simple, single-pass diffraction of the pulse train, and (4) a dedicated CPU-controlled electronics module providing precise control over the RF power, pulsewidth, delay and phase for optimized diffraction efficiency and pulse contrast ratio. These four items allow for the greatest versatility from the light, which is produced by the existing laser system. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY REQUEST FOR QUOTATION, AS ALL ITEMS ARE SPECIFIED UNDER THIS NOTICE. SUBMIT FAXED, SIGNED AND DATED QUOTATIONS NLT 2:00 P.M 9 SEPT 2004 to 540-653-6810. IT IS THE OFFEROR?S RESPONSIBILITY TO ASSURE THAT THE QUOTE IS RECEIVED TIMELY AND THAT IT IS LEGIBLE AND COMPLETE. AS A MINIMUM, QUOTATIONS MUST INCLUDE: (1) Reference to Quotation Number N00178-04-Q-3053, (2) The quoter?s name, address! , point of contact, phone number and email address, (3) Clear identification of offered product manufacturer, model number, quantity and price, (4) The offered delivery and (5) Descriptive literature for any/all non-Coherent offered product (NTE 3 pages), which clearly addresses the above minimum requirements. QUOTES FAILING TO SUBMIT THE ABOVE INFORMATION MAY BE EXCLUDED FROM CONSIDERATION. All responsible sources may submit a proposal to NSWCDD, Bldg 183, Room 106, Code XDS13, 17320 Dahlgren Road, Dahlgren, VA 22448-5100, which shall be considered by the Agency. Award is to be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. See Note 22. Closing time and date is 2:00 P.M. 9 SEPT 2004.
