Description

The USDA, ARS has a requirement for the installation of an irrigation system at the South Farm for the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC), located in Beltsville, MD. The performance period is 60 days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The order of magnitude is between $25,000 and $100,000. This procurement is solicited under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program (FAR Part 19) as a total small business set aside. The NAICS code is 237110, with a small business size standard of $28.5 M average annual receipts for prior 3 years. This is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) using procedures from FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition. A firm fixed price contract will be awarded to the responsible bidder whose bid is responsive to the terms of the RFQ and is most advantageous to the Government. The solicitation (22-3K47-04) will be available to interested parties through electronic data interchange only. Internet address is http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. However, the drawings for the project are not available for uploading and prospective contractors will have to request a hard copy. Notification of any changes (amendments) to this solicitation shall be made via the Internet. If there are questions regarding the solicitation, offerors should contact 301/504-5548. It is the Contractors responsibility to check the Internet site for any posted changes to the solicitation. The solicitation will be released (ready for downloading) on or about September 17, 2004. Quotations will be due on September 27, 2004, by 12:00 noon. A site visit is scheduled for September 21, 2004 at 10:00 a.m., meeting in front of Building 003, BARC-West. All responsible contractors may submit a quotation, which shall be considered by the Government. Anticipated award date is September 30, 2004.
