Description
This sources sought announcement is for the purpose of identifying potential sources. 90 CONS is soliciting sources interested in providing Engine Re-Power Kits for shipment to F.E. Warren Air Force Base. This requirement shall be solicited on a firm-fixed-price basis. We anticipate awarding a three-year IDIQ type contract (1 base year with 2 options) with a contemplated quantity of approximately 96 kits per year. This solicitation will require the contractor to furnish a 75 KW Diesel Electric Unit (DEU) Engine Re-power Kits, for implementation of a modification to the diesel electric units already installed in the ICBM launch facilities at F. E Warren and Minot Air Force Bases under Civil Engineering Manual CEM 21-SM80-0555 and CEM 21-SM80-0597. The requirement for these kits were developed with consideration for Nuclear Hardness requirements for weapon systems components. These replacement engine kits must meet the following salient characteristics: 1) ?Bolt-in? type replacement kit for existing Allis Chalmers model 7000 diesels, 2) Must mount and drive existing Allis Chalmers Alternator P/N 4431338, 3) Must use existing generator skid, 4) Must use existing radiator, 5) Must have approved isochronous governor, 6) Must be able to run continuously for minimum of 600 hours without any preventive service or maintenance, 7) Must be guaranteed parts sustainable for a minimum of 20 years, 8) Must be a complete kit including hardware, air filtration system, and any other items required to install engine, 9) Must be American made, widely used, and commercially available, and 10) Must use a mechanical fuel injection system. 90 CONS hereby requests that any firm which may have the capability of meeting this requirement should provide a Statement of Capability and supporting rationale to Arthur Makekau, Contract Specialist, (arthur.makekau@warren.af.mil) 307-773-6829, and Anne Carroll, Contracting Officer, (anne.carroll@warren.af.mil) 307-773-4911, no later than 10 Sep 2004.
