Description

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Plum Island Animal Disease Center, Orient Point, New York, on behalf of the USDA, APHIS, NVSL, FADDL-Plum Island Animal Disease Center, Orient Point, New York, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis for a complete Biomek Assay Work Station from Beckman-Coulter, 4300 N. Harbor Blvd, Fullerton, CA 92834. This includes, but is not limited to, 1) Biomek FX single arm w/single multi channel pipettor, 2)Biomek FX 96 channel disposable tip pipetting head 200 ul, 3)automation controller, 4) Biomek FX software, 5) Biomek FX disposable tip loader, 6) Std single position ALP, 7) Waste ALP, 8) custom pass-thru enclosure, 9) plate washer, 10) SAMI workstation, 11) Cytomat microplate hotel, Cytomat 2C Incubator, 12) Installation of system. This notice is neither a request for quotations nor a solicitation of offers. Based on the requirements for the above system, the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority FAR 6.302. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement on a full and open competitive basis is solely within the discretion of the Government. No formal solicitation package is available. Only written responses will be accepted and must be received within five (5) calendar days of the date of this notice. The Government anticipates award on September 8, 2004. The Government will not be responsible for any costs in the preparation of responses to this announcement.
