Description

This is a notice of intent to conduct a sole source acquisition for a commercial item, to be awarded to Science Applications International Corporation. This is a sole source procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Description is as follows: Node Electronics Assemblies, hydrophones, pressure vessels, strength termination armored cable, electrical terminations (underwater connectors) and Shore Station Electronics. This proposed procurement involves juvenile salmon acoustic telemetry system t o estimate the survival of listed subyearling Chinook salmon from Bonneville Dam to ocean entry at the mouth of the Columbia River. This notice of intent is NOT a request for quotations. Interested parties that believe they can meet these needs must supply information about their capabilities no later than 4:00 pm pacific time on (ten days) 7 September, 2004. Any responses received a s a result of this notice of intent, shall be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competition. Responses will NOT be considered as either proposals or bids. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition, based upon the written responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received by the above date, a sole source contract with Science Applications International Corporation will be pursued.
