Description
NA U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 2 Albuquerque, New Mexico is requesting proposals on solicitation number 201814R040 to furnish all effort, equipment, and materials for removal and disposal of invasive submerged aquatic plant life, water trumpet (Cryptocoryne becketti) from approximately 1 mile of selected portions of the San Marcos River. Work includes removal by dredging, and or manually, transport and, disposal of all water trumpet plants,root systems and related material. Establish catchment system to capture plant roots and stems. As of November 1993, plants covered up to 6% of the river bottom (1,710 sq. yd). Wetted width was calculated in 2001 as 29,442 sq. yd. In some portions plants blanket the river from bank to bank. The average depth of water trumpet is three feet below the substrate surface. Some roots have been removed as deep as 45 inches. The project is located within the San Marcos River, Hays County, San Marcos, Texas. The project is being coordinated by the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Ecological Services Field Office, Austin, Texas. The estimated price magnitude is $250,000 to $500,000. The total performance period is expected to be 270 calendar days or less. Proposal evaluation will be on Best Value process (Technical, Past Performance, and Price). The project is solicited unrestricted full and open competition. Both small and large businesses may submit proposals. The solicitation will be available on or about September 17, 2004. A pre-proposal conference/site visit will be tentatively held on Tuesday, October 19, 2004. Confirm attendance by calling Carrie Thompson or designee (512-490-0057).
