Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared IAW the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2001-24 and DFARs Change Notice (DCN) 20040625. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code is 2298 and the size standard is 500 employees. NAICS is 314991. This acquisition is a 100% small business set aside. Simplified Acquisition Procedures (The award will be less than $100,000) will be followed. This purchase will be for twelve (12) double-braided nylon ropes with the following salient characteristics: Must be able to meet requirement stated in Technical Order (T.O) 43E11-22-71, which states that AGTS-33 tow ropes posses the strength of 2,318 kg (5,100 lb) and be manufactured in accordance with MIL STD?24050(E). According to T.O. 43E11-22-71 pg. 1-3 para. c the tow cable must meet the following: - Must meet MIL-R-24050 (now MIL-DTL-24050E) - Must be a nylon rope - Must be 1640 feet long - Must have a minimum break strength of 5100 pounds - Must have a diameter of 7/16" - Must be of double braid (braid-on-braid) construction - Must have a "heat shield" on first 25 meters - Must have urethane covered loops Please see ATTACHED MIL STD-24050(E) for additional requirements. Interested parties who believe they can meet all the requirements for the twelve (12) double-braided nylon ropes described in this synopsis are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide the required training requirement. Offerors are required to submit with their quote enough information for the Government to evaluate the minimum requirements detailed in this synopsis. CONTRACTORS MUST COMPLY WITH FAR 52.204-7 CENTRAL CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION (OCT 2003) AND DFARS 252.204-7004, ALTERNATE A (NOV 2003). Offerors must include a completed copy of the provision 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications--Commercial Items with the offer.
