Description

This notice is for informational purposes only. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to issue a sole source purchase order for an ongoing study on Documentation and Translation of the Science of the ?Diabetes Wellness: American Indian Talking Circles: Approach for Diabetes Prevention and Care in American Indian Communities to a Researcher at the University of Minnesota, 308 Harvard Street, SE, Minneapolis, MN 55455 . Dr. Felicia Hodges is from the University of Minnesota, Center for American Indian Research and Education (CAIRE) the project is to promote listening, dialogue and action to counter threats and problem faced by communities and to impart wisdom and support for members. Talking Circles as a health promotion and disease prevention project was tested in early cancer detection and treatment by Dr. Hodge when at the University of California at Berkeley in the 1990s. Based in part on the success of this project, ?Diabetes Wellness: American Indian Talking Circles? (Talking Circles) was supported by a National Institute of Nursing Research grant to principal investigator Hodge. The university of Minnesota, Center for American Indian Research and Education (CAIRE) is the only contractor that could establish this science based which will serve as platform for wider dissemination of the Talking Circles model because developed and implemented this project. This procurement will be processed under the authority of FAR6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other vendor will satisfy agency requirements. The proposed contract action is for supplies which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This is procurement is not set-aside for small business.
