This sources sought synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information solicited. The Savannah District Corps of Engineers in coordination with the Georgia Department of Transportation are seeking a source for productive use of 1 to 5 million yards per year for slightly salty, organic, silt and silty sand sediments located adjacent to S avannah Harbor, Georgia. The sediments are contained within several large areas of about 700 to 1000 acres and can be obtained in either fluid or solid form. The storage areas have truck and deep-water access. It is expected the sediments will be provid ed at nominal or no charge and; once removed, will become the property of the source. Sediment removal and processing will be done by the source. The District will partner in obtaining any necessary permits and utility access. Previous tests have shown t he sediments can be transformed into aggregate or bricks. It is believed some potential exists for processing the sediments into potting soil or cement. Responses should include the following information: the company name, address, phone number; the companys history and experience, a description of the process to be used to remove the sediments; an estimation of the rate of removal of sediments; type, siz e and quantity of equipment to be used to remove and process the sediments; type and size of access necessary for equipment needed for removal; utility requirements; bed down space requirements for equipment, space required for a manufacturing plant, and a ny other special requirements for equipment or manufacturing site.
