Description
NAICS Code: 235310 AMENDMENT #1 TO RFQ-RFT-04-0322 IS ISSUED AUGUST 11, 2004. THIS AMENDMENT IS ISSUED TO PROVIDE EPA'S RESPONSES TO VENDOR'S QUESTIONS AND TO DELETE ONE CLAUSE INCLUDED BY REFERENCE. EPA RESPONSES CAN BE DOWNLOADED FROM http://www.epa.gov/oam/rtp_cmd. Firms are encouraged to access the request for quotation, provisions and amendments via the internet. If you will obtaining a copy of the request for quotation via the Internet, it will by your responsibility to frequently check the same site where the request for quotation is posted for any amendments. In the list of additional FAR clauses cited which are applicable to this solicitation, FAR clause 52.225-3, Buy American Act--North American Free Trace Agreement is deleted; this action is a total small business set aside. Several question have been received in regards to solicitation No. RFQ-RT-04-00322, 9KW DC Photovoltaic Panel Electric Power Generating System. The questions are 1. Is the structural design of the penthouse and the main building capable of withstanding the additional weight of the proposed solar system? 2. Does the roof membrane have a warranty involved and if so does the company issuing the warranty need to make the roof membrane penetration. 3. Due to string sizing considerations and so forth it is impractical to achieve exactly 9 kW of PV. How close is close enough and would it be preferable to size a little under or over 9 kW? 4. With 9 kW of PV why spec in a 12 kW inverter capacity? Is the idea to later expand the PV arrays? 5. How do we obtain a copy of provision 52.212-3? The answers are: The load bearing capacity of the penthouse roof is 200+ lbs/sq ft. While the roof is still under a material warranty, the contractor for this project will do all roof penetrations although it is possible to ballast the panels and not have any roof penetrations. Also, we are striving for 9KW. Slightly more is not a problem, but we would have to review what you consider slightly less. And yes, the plan is to expand to 12 KW in the future if funding becomes available. The deadline for submission of quotes is not extended..
