Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial supplies prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This requirement is being issued as a Request for Quote. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-24 and Defense Acquisition Circular 91-13. This action is restricted to small businesses, has a NAICS code of 423120/423130, and a size standard of 100 employees. This solicitation contains (1) one CLIN; it is the government?s intent of awarding a firm-fixed price requirement contract for a base one-year with (4) one-year option periods. The Marine Corps Logistics Command, Albany, Georgia, has a requirement for the following items: CLIN 0001: Assembly of tires a! nd wheels. All work will be performed using applicable technical manuals: TM232034/13, TM2320-24P/14B, TM4750-15/1 (Paint), and RS08780A-50. Tire and wheel assembly consist of (1) one 1600R21 tire, (1) one Wheel; P/N: 429280, (1) Lock Ring; P/N: LR21T, (1) one Flange; P/N: 1428650. Contractor will completely disassemble the tire and wheel, inspect the tire for serviceability by checking for cuts, cupping and tread depth for a minimum of 12/32nds. The tire will be classified as unserviceable when the tread depth is less than 12/32nd, any signs of cupping, any cuts in side wall or in the tread area more than 1/16 inches deep, and if any other visual defects are noticed. The wheel, flange, and lock ring will be sand blasted, primed, and painted, then reassembled, using a serviceable or a new tire, new o-ring, and new valve stem. A (7) seven day turn around time will be required, to support the Maintenance Centers requirements, with weeekly quantities from 12 to 25 assemb! lies. The vendor must be able to support an increase in quantity, with a timely notice, if the Maintenance Centers requirements were to increase. Contractor will be responsible for furnishing the primer, Sherwin Williams Rex number base- E90W201, catalyst-V93V202, and paint, black, Sherwin Williams Rex number base F93B505, catalyst- V93V502. Maintenance Center Albany, will furnish new tires, valve stems, o-rings, wheels, lock rings, flanges, and hardware. The contractor will pick up the tire assemblies at a designated area within the fenced area of building of 2200 MCLB, Albany, GA. The completed tire assemblies will be delivered to Warehouse 1331 Door 10, MCLB, Albany, GA. Tire assemblies will be picked up and returned on a weekly schedule. The old tires will be stacked (4) four high on pallets, covered with cardboard, and banded to the pallets. They will then be returned to MCLB, Albany, GA for disposition. MCLB will furnish the pallets, and cardboard, the contrac! tor will furnish the banding material, and transportation back to MCLB, Albany. The service provider will provide quality service in accordance with the applicable documents listed above. The government reserves the right to select bids based on cost, delivery schedule, and as most advantageous to the government. The Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation, is considered to be the best value to the Government. The contractor shall extend to the Government the full coverage of any standard commercial warranty normally offered in a similar commercial product, provided such warranty is available at no additional cost to the Governmen! t. Offerors responding to this announcement must provide the information contained in 52.212-3, Offeror Representatives and Certifications ? Commercial Items. In the event that FAR 52.212-3 cannot be obtained send an email or fax requesting a copy. The offeror shall also provide its Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code, Contractor Established code (DUNS number) and Tax Identification Number. Contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Register and Wide Area Workflow to be eligible for award. If a change occurs in this requirement, only those offerors that respond to this announcement within the required time frame will be provided any changes/amendments and considered for future discussions and/or award. Written, facsimile, or emailed quotes and the above required information must be received at this office on or before 10 September 2004, at 4:30 PM Eastern Standard Time.
