Description
The project provides a protective beach with a berm and dune to reduce the potential storm damage at Fenwick Island, DE. The project provides for a 200-foot wide berm at an elevation of +7.7 feet NAVD with a dune at a top elevation of +17.7 feet NAV D over a total project length of 8,200 feet (including tapers). Approximately 1.0 million cubic yards of sand is required for the initial construction of the project and will be obtained from an offshore borrow area. The project also provides for dune gr ass planting, sand dune fencing, and dune walkovers. Three separate options of 100,000 cubic yards each, will be awarded for additional beachfill if the Contracting Officer determines that additional beachfill is required based on the results of pre-place ment surveys and changing site conditions as they occur during the contract period. Solicitation Number W912BU-04-B-0015 will be available on the Internet Web pages on or about 16 August 2004. Hard copies will not be available. No written or fax request s will be accepted. Contractors shall download this IFB (including drawings) and all Amendments from the Internet web page at the following address https://ebs.nap.usace.army.mil on or after the issue date of the IFB. The official media of distribution for the IFB is the Internet Web Page. It is the contractors responsibility to monitor the web page for any amendments. Interested contractors must register on the Internet Web page. If any of the contractor??????s information changes during the advertiseme nt period, contractors are responsible to make changes to their user profile on the Internet Web Page. Failure to make changes in their user profile may cause for delay in receiving notification of the IFB and Amendments. Bids will be due on or about 14 September 2004. NAICS code is 237990 with a size standard of $17.0. Bonding is required. The contract duration will be 180 calendar days. All contractors are required to be registered in the DODs Central Contract Register before award as required by DFA RS 204.7300.
