- DESCRIPTION OF INTENT: THIS IS A MARKET SURVEY REQUESTING INFORMATION IN SUPPORT OF THE FOLLOWING POTENTIAL REQUIREMENT. No contract will be awarded from this anounce-ment. This is not not not not a Solicitation or an announcement of a forthcoming So licitation, nor is this a request seeking contractors to be placed on a Solicitation Mailing List. Response to this survey is voluntary and no reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this market survey and any follow-on information requests. Data submitted in response to this market survey will not be returned. No solicitation document exists at this time, and calls requesting a solicitation will not be answered. POTENTIAL REQUIREMENT: TARDEC is conducting a market survey to identify companies and partnerships which can perform modeling and simulation, laboratory testing, reformation R&D, and fuel cell integration for a military environment. The initial target is f or the incumbent to develop and test a 5-20 kW APU prototype for the military within 3-5years. It is desired that the APU prototype would run on standard JP-8 fuel, as defined in the specification MIL-DTL 83133E. The contractor may work with other governme nt agencies and contractors to enhance the capability of the APU system. FINAL RESPONSES DUE: Responses to the Market Survey is requested no later than September 15, 2004. RESPONSE FORMAT(S): ELECTRONIC (e-mail) responses are preferred and strongly encouraged. It is requested that electronic responses be provided in the following format: Microsoft word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint, etc. The maximum size of ea ch e-mail message shall be three and one-half (3.5) megabytes. You may use multiple e-mail messages. The subject line must include message 1 of 3, 2 of 3, 3 of 3, etc. All interested firms, regardless of size, are encouraged to respond to this request fo r information. Partnering with other entities to collaborate and provide the maximum amount of capability for this endeavor is encouraged.
