Description
The U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Atlantic Oceanographic Meteorological Laboratory (AMOL), Miami, Florida intends to procure professional services for the replacement of an existing fire alarm system with a new addressable system, various improvements to the existing electrical distribution system including, but not limited to, an improved grounding system, additional circuits and wiring devices in offices, thermal scan of existing switchboards and panelboards, re-torqueing of devices as required and miscellaneous corrections to comply with the National Electrical Code. In addition to providing a base quote for the items mentioned above, NOAA/AMOL requests individual quotes for three add-on options as follows: Option 1 - the removal and replacement of the computer room Power Distribution Unit; Option 2 - the installation of a lightning protection system; Option 3 - removal and replacement of the 120/208V panelboard Transient Voltage Surge Supression unit. The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, testing devices, materials and material handling, security and accountability, and each and every item of expense necessary to perform the work as quoted. Details to be described in the plans and specifications and will be distributed upon written request. The size of the project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This is a 100% small business set-aside project. The NAICS code is 238210 and the small business size standard is a maximum of $12 million average annual gross revenue for the last three fiscal years. The plans and specifications are expected to be available for distribution on or about August 6, 2004 with a bid response date on or about September 14, 2004. The completion time for this project is approximately 240 calendar days. A pre-bid meeting date will be included in the bid package. All responsible sources may submit a bid which will be considered by the agency. Copies of the specifications and bid documents are limited and will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.
