- THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY AND YOUR RESPONSE IS NOT AN OFFER. THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION DOES NOT COMMIT THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY ANY COSTS INCURRED IN PREPARATION OF ANY SUBMISSION TO THIS MARKET SURVEY, OR TO CONTRACT FOR SERVICES. This sources sought synopsis is a requirement under the review of the first option of the current contract. This is a sources sought synopsis for small business acquisition planning purposes and no formal solicitation exists at this time. MSC is soliciting input from Small Business (SB), 8(a), HUBZone and other socio-economic concerns to determine the technical, administrative, management, and financial capability of such offerors to perform this kind of work. Interested small business offerors must submit a brief but complete capability statement that demonstrates the capability to perform this service for an evaluation to this office no later than 11 August 2004. All responses to this sources sought shall include: company name and address, business size and type, point of contact to include email address and phone number, a cost estimate, as well as previous procurements performed of similar size and complexity. This information will be sued by the Contracting Officer to assist in developing the procurement strategy. LOCATION: Naval Air Facility Key West (NAFKW), Florida GENERAL: The services to be furnished under this contract include maintenance of multiple boats and related services, port operations, harbor tug services, and waterfront administration support of Naval Air Facility Key West (NAFKW), Florida; enhancing the readiness of the Department of Defense and other customers. The Contractor shall plan, schedule, coordinate, and assure effective completion of all services required. OPERATING LIMITS: The services to be furnished under this contract include operation of multiple ship, watercraft, boats, and related maintenance services; port operations; and waterfront administration at NAFKW and within the surrounding area. SCHEDULE: Normal hours of operation are 0700 ? 1700 Monday through Friday. TUG SERVICES: The Contractor shall be able to provide the following number and capabilities of harbor tugs: (A) Small Tug Services: two (2) harbor tugs that are at least 1400 HP. Single shaft acceptable. These tugs shall be provided within 24 hours of request. (B) Large Tug Services: three (3) harbor tugs that are least 2400 HP. Twin shaft or better propulsion required. These tugs shall be provided within 48 hours of request.
